Announcing this year’s Ellison Travel & Tours Scholarship Winners!

Written by Michelle Charbonneau | August 2, 2024

Every year, Ellison Tours gives away a scholarship to a few lucky students who share with us their passion of travel and a photo from an Ellison Tours student tour! This past month, Ellison announced the recipients of this year’s Ellison Travel & Tours Scholarship, Mikan Munson of Lambrick Park Secondary School, Aaron Mills of Dorchester High School and Chantal Woo of Little Flower Academy.

Chantal Woo wrote: “Travel is experiential learning at its best. Through my travels, I have been able to integrate the knowledge that I have acquired through classroom and textbook studies and seen it applied in the real world. Historical facts are no longer just words on a page and instead take shape when seen and experienced. The tours my school has organized over the years through Ellison have enriched my academic experience and have instilled in me a sense of exploration which I will carry through to my adult life.”

Mikan Munson wrote: “Travel to me is much more then the pretty buildings, scenic views, and good food. Travel is about immersing yourself within the rich culture of that country or town. It’s about spreading your wings and exploring all the possibilities that lay just a couple kilometers away. It’s about growing as a person and learning by doing, experiencing the stunning architecture, history, and cuisine for yourself. Travel is much more then the destination, but the people you meet along the way. You may strengthen the friendships you already have, but you might also meet new people that will forever change your perspective on the world. Travel is the best way to experience the beautiful diverse planet we live on. That’s what travel means to me.”

Aaron Mills wrote: “Travelling is a way for me to see new places and get to experience things that I could never imagine. It is a way to broaden my knowledge of the world, and how it has gotten to where it is today. Travelling for me is a way to get to see and experience new things, and help understand the way that other people live, making it easier to connect with the people that I meet throughout my life.”

We would like to congratulate our winners for 2024 and wish them the best of luck during their studies in post-secondary education! To learn more about the Ellison Tours Scholarship, please click the button below.
