Welcome to China – Huānyíng lái dào zhōngguó! Arrive into Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China and its 2nd largest city for 2 nights. Your stay will include a guided city tour, with visits to see Tiananmen Square (Gate of Heavenly Peace), the Forbidden City (3 times larger than the Louvre), and the Temple of Heaven. Put on your best walking shoes as you will be visiting a section of the Great Wall, the famous Silk Street Market and the Beijing Zoo which has rare Chinese animals, such as the Giant Panda, the Golden Monkey, the Red Panda, and a Sichuan golden monkey as well as an evening Kung Fu Show. Next fly onto Shanghai known as “The Pearl of Asia” and “The Paris of the East” for 3 nights. You will have a guided tour to see the Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Yuyuan Garden – one of the highlights of Shanghai due to its artistic style, the Yuyuan Market – with local delicacies such as Xiao Long Bao, pigeon egg dumplings and spicy cold noodles as well as purchase items including chopsticks, fans, silk umbrellas, pottery, and more. Spend some time at the People’s Square and the Shanghai Museum with 11 galleries spread over four floors offer an artistic historical tour. Enjoy a Huangpu River night cruise to end the day. The last day here you will visit the Jade Buddha Temple one of the most famous Buddha religious temples before heading to the water towns of Suzhou and Zhouzhuang.
The last 3 days of the trip will be spent in Hong Kong. A guided tour will take you to the Goldfish Market, a short walk through Kowloon Park, see the Bruce Lee Statue, the Avenue of Stars and Tsim Sha Tsui East Promenade where you get a stunning view of the Hong Kong skyline. Enjoy a ride on the Aqua Luna, a traditional junk boat ride through Victoria Harbour that also coincides with the cities famous light show, the Symphony of Lights. Visit Victoria Harbour and the famous Victoria Peak with a one-way Peak Tram trip, rest your weary feet from Hong Kong’s hilly streets and get a lift on the longest outdoor escalator in the world – the Central Mid-Levels is a 2624 foot bucket list worthy ride that links the Central and Western districts on Hong Kong Island, with many shops and dining stops along the way. Spend some time at the Stanley Market – once a fishing village, now a great destination for purchasing various goods, including Chinese-style works of art, silk fabric, antiques, and king-size clothes. The last stop is TSL Jewelry Factory, where you can choose nice jewels of good quality. Your last day will be spent visiting Lantau Island to see Tsing Ma Bridge, Po Lin Monastery, the Bronze Giant Buddha and the Tai O Fishing Village famous for its traditional Chinese stilt-house community and is considered the “Venice of the Orient”.
