I have had a wonderful relationship with Ellison over the years. This trip (my 6th with Ellison) was more challenging because there were a couple retirements during the planning process. As a result, our file had to be transferred to others who could take on the project. I found this to be the biggest challenge and things slowed down as a result. In addition, the school that we had connected with, through CEEF, withdrew from the exchange in late June, which put us in a bind. Thankfully Ellison worked to make the trip happen despite this huge setback but the process and feedback were often slow and I feel that more planning could have taken place over the summer to get things in motion. I watched our itinerary carefully to make sure that we were able to accomplish as much as possible each day. Leslie Jamieson was outstanding as a tour director! Her knowledge of French and her background in history really helped our students. She was also very accommodating and patient with our requests. Our students have wonderful memories of this Swiss adventure! Although the many months of planning were very challenging, the end result was good. Our students loved the activities that we did. Leslie Jamieson was a fantastic part of the trip; the students loved getting to know her and she worked out the technical itinerary glitches as they came up, allowing us teachers to focus on our students and their learning and needs.
